You guys. Cancun was NOT as scary as I had imagined it would be. My 18 year old sister and I had planned a trip to Cancun, which included my very first rental car ever, and I was going to be the responsible one. I was stressing a little bit about this trip because Mexico can be kind of sketchy, we are two blondes with blue eyes, and I was renting my very first car, which was stick shift btw.....
(I drive stick, it's just been a LONG time). This trip ended up surprising me in SO MANY WAYS.
First off. Cancun is a gorgeous place and I believe everyone should go at some point in their lives. Second. People are so nice. We stayed at Casa Sal in Playa del Carmen, which is a quaint airbnb and was PERFECT in every way. I got to use my Spanish a TON since our host, Trino, didn't speak a lick of English, which was super fun!
